Winners of the Hero of Ukraine Serhii Konoval Scholarship Competition

The scholarship committee of Ternopil National Medical University, in cooperation with the director of the “Serhii Konoval Foundation” Olha Konoval, has selected the winners of the named scholarship for the second time this academic year. The scholarship is dedicated to the memory of TNMU alumnus Serhii Konoval.

The finalists of the competition are Nazarii Krulyk, Dmytro Perets, and Anastasiia Kolesnikova. The main scholarship of 4000 UAH will be awarded to Nazarii Krulyk, who previously received an incentive award. Additionally, the director of the Serhii Konoval Foundation decided to support the other two students by awarding them incentive scholarships of 1000 UAH each.

A few words about our scholarship recipients:

Nazarii Krulyk is a member of various public organizations at the university, city, regional, and national levels. Since June 2024, he has been an active participant in the Lifestrand project under the ERASMUS+ program. After completing the training course for junior instructors – “Training and Dissemination of Emergency Aid Skills for Higher Education Institutions and Community Representatives Living in Conflict Risk Zones in Ukraine and Georgia,” – within the Lifestrand project, he received certification as a junior instructor. He is also actively involved in promoting blood donation and many other initiatives.

Dmytro Perets is a third-year student. Even before entering the university, he was engaged in professional sports. Since 2016, he has taken part in regional and national competitions, winning multiple awards and prizes. In 2023, he became a member of the National Team of Ukraine and began competing internationally. While studying at the university, he successfully combines sports and academics. In 2024, he represented Ukraine at the IV Winter Youth Olympic Games in South Korea. For many years, he has actively participated in activities aimed at promoting physical culture and sports in Ternopil and is also involved in volunteer initiatives. In his free time, Dmytro assists physical therapists in the neurorehabilitation department of the Ternopil Regional Clinical Psychoneurological Hospital. In May 2025, he volunteered at the “Active Rehabilitation Camp” organized in Chortkiv by the “Group of Active Rehabilitation.”

Anastasiia Kolesnykova is a sixth-year student. Since November 2023, she has been a member of the Ukrainian Medical Students’ Association. Since her first year, she has been part of the theater studio “Artdrama.” Over the past two years, together with a classmate, she has delivered 12 lectures aimed at raising awareness of mental health, promoting healthy habits, encouraging an active lifestyle, and developing emotional intelligence among students from grades 3 to 10.

The scholarship was established by the Serhii Konoval Foundation to support TNMU students who have made significant contributions to civic, volunteer, and patriotic activities. This financial award is intended to motivate youth to become more active and conscious members of Ukrainian society, to form a patriotic worldview, develop leadership qualities, and remain responsible and committed to Ukraine.

The Hero of Ukraine Serhii Konoval Scholarship competition is announced every academic semester.

Students may apply for the scholarship if they meet the following criteria:
– active participation in public organizations at various levels (university, city, regional, or national) that contribute to social development and promote volunteer and civic engagement;
– achievements in sports, culture, volunteering, science, or public initiatives, confirmed by diplomas and/or certificates;
– demonstration of high moral responsibility to society.
