Charity Fair 2025 at TNMU

Every October, I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University hosts a special event — a charity fair dedicated to the Defenders of Ukraine Day, the Feast of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks, and the anniversary of the formation of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA). This event has already become a cherished tradition that unites students, faculty, and staff around an important cause — to support our defenders.

This year, the fair took place in the administrative and pharmaceutical buildings, at the Institute of Nursing, and at the Simulation Training Center. From the very morning, the atmosphere was filled with warmth and festivity. One of the brightest features of the fair was the creative decoration of the tables — each was not just a sales spot but a true calling card of a faculty or student group. Embroidered towels, napkins, tablecloths, clay dishes, baskets, and autumn decorations — compositions of pumpkins, viburnum, wheat, leaves, apples, and other gifts of the season — added to the festive and authentic mood, reminding everyone of Ukrainian folk traditions.

Students and staff brought homemade pastries, cupcakes, cookies, gingerbread, cakes, sandwiches, savory snacks, and even traditional Ukrainian dishes such as borsch and varenyky (dumplings).

It was especially heartwarming to see the unity of the university community. Everyone could buy treats for a voluntary donation or a suggested price. Some visitors not only bought sweets but also donated larger sums without taking change, understanding the importance of the cause. Students of the medical faculty even organized a mini photo zone and a themed display for the Feast of the Intercession, joining in the spirit of the event.

After the fair, all willing participants had the opportunity to personally greet soldiers and deliver the homemade treats to them.

Thanks to the joint efforts of everyone involved, a significant amount — 168,648 UAH — was raised, which will soon be used to purchase essential supplies for Ukrainian soldiers.

This event became a true example of unity and faith — proof that good deeds, when done together, have the power to bring people together and inspire hope for victory. We believe that small acts create great changes. The sweets warmed hearts, and the funds collected will support those who protect us every day.
