TNMU Professor Attends National Day of the Republic of Austria

Professor Oksana Shevchuk, Head of the Research Management Department at Ternopil National Medical University (TNMU) and participant of the 19th round of the Austrian Leadership Program (ALPS Austria), attended a festive reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Austria. The event was organized by the Embassy of Austria in Ukraine and took place in Kyiv at the invitation of the Ambassador.

The celebration brought together representatives of Ukrainian governmental, cultural, and business communities. The Austrian Ambassador to Ukraine, Robert Müller, welcomed the guests in Ukrainian and emphasized the close friendship and cooperation between Austria and Ukraine.

Ternopil National Medical University maintains strong partnerships with Austrian institutions through academic mobility programs, as well as collaboration in the fields of science and education.

We take pride in our cooperation with Professor Hubert Egger from the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria (FH OO), who teaches a course for students of the Orthotics and Prosthetics program. We sincerely thank OeAD (Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation) and the Austrian Cooperation Office in Lviv for their ongoing support. TNMU also has a long-standing partnership with the Medical University of Vienna, particularly with Professor Harald Teufelsbauer, a renowned vascular surgeon.

Thanks to collaboration with FH Campus Wien, students of the TNMU Institute of Nursing have participated in Blended Intensive Programs (BIP) in Vienna, with further BIPs planned in the near future.

Representatives of the Austrian company Saphenus Medical Technology are assisting in implementing the innovative Suralis prosthetic system for lower-limb prostheses, aimed at improving the rehabilitation and social reintegration of Ukrainian soldiers.
