Visit of the TNMU Delegation to the Charity Organization “House of Mercy”
As part of the cooperation agreement, Ternopil National Medical University, together with the Charity Organization “House of Mercy” of the Buchach Eparchy, continues to implement a project aimed at improving medical care for children from socially vulnerable groups.
Within the framework of this partnership, TNMU specialists carried out scheduled dental check-ups for children, during which both acute and chronic dental issues were identified, and recommendations for further treatment and prevention were provided.
Specialists from the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, and Medical Psychology of the university provide psychiatric and psychological counseling to children, while parents and guardians receive guidance on managing behavioral and emotional difficulties.
The collaboration has reached a new level, as the University’s Center for Mental Health has begun its work, allowing for an expanded range of services for children and their families. The opening of the TNMU Center for Mental Health enables the team of specialists to organize more systematic and long-term support for children.

Thus, on November 19, 2025, as part of the ongoing cooperation, representatives of Ternopil National Medical University visited the Charity Organization “House of Mercy.” A joint tour of the facility was conducted with the participation of the director of the organization, Tetiana Dubyna, Bishop Dmytro Hryhorak, and representatives of the TNMU administration — Vice-Rector for Science, education and Clinical Affairs Stepan Zaporozhan and child psychiatrist of the Center for Mental Health, Oleksandr Lozynskyi.

The participants reviewed the living conditions of the children and discussed ways to optimize comprehensive medical, dental, and psychological support.

Regular visits by multidisciplinary teams and the expansion of cooperation with the clergy of the Buchach Eparchy of the UGCC are planned in the future.
