Stefan Khmil Named Scholarships Established at TNMU
Professor Stefan Khmil has established named scholarships to support talented students of Ternopil National Medical University. These scholarships will be awarded to young people who find themselves in difficult financial circumstances and demonstrate high academic performance. In this regard, an agreement was signed on November 26, 2025, with Acting Rector of TNMU, Mykhailo Korda. In total, four scholarships will be offered — two for fifth-year students and two for sixth-year students.

The following university students may apply for the Stefan Khmil Named Scholarship:
- Fifth-year students enrolled in the Educational and Professional Program “General Medicine,” who achieved the highest average grade in the course “Obstetrics and Gynecology” during their fourth year;
- Sixth-year students who achieved the highest average grade in the course “Obstetrics and Gynecology” during their fifth year.

Preference will be given to students who are participants (or children of participants) in combat operations; children of fallen or missing Ukrainian defenders; students in difficult financial circumstances; those from large families; and internally displaced persons.
“One of the first steps in supporting talented youth was awarding scholarships to students of the Ternopil Educational Complex ‘Comprehensive School I–III Levels – Medical Lyceum No. 15,’ whose parents are on the front line, who come from low-income families, who dream of becoming doctors, and who study excellently. A total of ten scholarships were awarded — five for financially disadvantaged students and five for those with excellent academic achievements. At that time, I had the idea to establish scholarships for students of Ternopil National Medical University who aspire to become obstetricians and gynecologists and who are financially insecure. We also have several programs focused on charity and supporting Ukrainians. These include free in vitro fertilization for military personnel since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, cryopreservation of biological material for soldiers, and many other projects. I decided to help students during this challenging time — they are having a particularly tough time. In my opinion, there should be many philanthropists in the country who support young people to give them the opportunity to start life with a good education and a successful beginning to their careers,” said Stefan Khmil.

For scholarship recipients who wish to undergo practical training or work at the Stefan Khmil Clinic, all necessary conditions will be provided.
