The Bethlehem Peace Light Brought to TNMU by Representatives of Ternopil Plast
On December 19, 2025, representatives of Ternopil Plast brought a lamp with the Bethlehem Peace Light to I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. This symbol of faith, love, light, and harmony was received by the Acting Rector of TNMU, Professor Arkadii Shulhai.

For more than twenty years, scouts around the world, together with members of the Ukrainian National Scout Organization Plast, have been spreading the Bethlehem Peace Light, which has been continuously burning in Bethlehem—the birthplace of Jesus Christ. This flame serves as a reminder of the Savior’s coming to Earth. The light is brought to Europe from Bethlehem by Austrian scouts by plane in a special container, and from Vienna it is passed hand to hand across European countries. It is carried from city to city and brought to churches and state institutions. From the Bethlehem Light, people can light candles at home on Christmas Eve. Traditionally, this light is kept in churches until the Feast of Epiphany.

On behalf of the entire university community, Arkadii Shulhai thanked the Plast scouts for this initiative and wished everyone peace, kindness, and happiness, as well as calm holidays and the fulfillment of dreams.
