Laboratory Workshop for Master’s Students of West Ukrainian National University at TNMU
Recently, students majoring in Ecology and faculty members from the Department of Ecology and Health Protection at West Ukrainian National University visited the Department of General Hygiene and Ecology at Ternopil National Medical University. During the visit, the guests became familiar with laboratory equipment and learned more about modern methods of environmental and hygienic monitoring of environmental factors, as well as microclimate parameters of residential and educational premises.

The Head of the Department, Professor Olena Lototska, provided a detailed overview of the operation and purpose of various instruments, including a lux meter, anemometer, dosimeter-radiometer, psychrometer, dust meter, sound level meter, and vibrometer. The participants also learned about the operating principle of a milk quality analyzer and the methodology for using a bactericidal irradiator during the winter period for preventive disinfection of air and surfaces in enclosed spaces.


The visit offered an opportunity to observe the laboratory equipment in operation and to deepen the knowledge of higher education students regarding methods for monitoring environmental factors and indoor air parameters in premises of various purposes. Such knowledge is essential for ensuring safe, environmentally friendly, and comfortable living and working conditions.
