On December 16–17, 2025, a Training of Trainers in Basic Emergency Care (BEC) was held at the O. Bohomolets National Medical University. The training was conducted in an updated format developed by the International Federation for Emergency Medicine.
The event brought together 47 trainers from various regions of Ukraine who are involved in training medical professionals in emergency medical care.

Ternopil National Medical University was represented at the event by Yuliia Danylevych, Yaroslav Kitsak, Viktor Shatskyi, and Valerii Zhyzhnomyrskyi.

The aim of the training was to enhance the professional competence of trainers and familiarize them with modern approaches to providing basic emergency medical care in accordance with international standards.

Accredited trainers presented participants with the updated BEC training program format, which combines theoretical knowledge with intensive practical training. Special emphasis was placed on an algorithm-based approach to patient assessment, teamwork, and the practice of hands-on skills for responding to critical conditions, where timely and appropriate intervention can save lives.

The knowledge and skills gained during the training will enable participants to conduct training sessions more effectively, contributing to the improvement of emergency medical care in Ukraine.
