TNMU Receives Award for Implementation of the “Hero’s Compass” Project

In 2025, two retreats of the Adventure Counseling Program, Hero’s Compass, were held at the “Chervona Kalyna” educational and wellness complex of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. The project was initiated by the humanitarian mission DTCare.

Recently, representatives of DTCare presented an award to the TNMU team in recognition of the effective cooperation between the university’s academic community and the civic sector in the field of veteran rehabilitation.

Overall, 23 veterans took part in 8-day retreats, undergoing a recovery journey through activities and games, body-oriented and art therapy practices, work in support groups, symbolic rituals, and interaction with nature.

The partnership between TNMU, the “Chervona Kalyna” educational and wellness complex, and the Hero’s Compass program of the nonprofit organization DTCare (USA) demonstrates that interdisciplinary collaboration can serve as an effective model for supporting veterans through care, professionalism, and a shared mission of service.
