Scheduled Meeting of the Academic Council of TNMU
On January 27, 2026, a scheduled meeting of the Academic Council of Ternopil National Medical University was held under the chairmanship of the Acting Rector, Professor Mykhailo Korda.


Before the beginning of the meeting, in a ceremonial setting, the Acting Rector presented honorary certificates to the student winners of the “Best Student of 2025” competition:
- In the nomination “For Excellent Academic Achievement” – Myroslav Fedorovych, a 6th-year student of the Medical Faculty;
- In the nomination “For Significant Achievements in Research” – Sofiia Chorna, a 5th-year student of the Medical Faculty;
- In the nomination “For Active Civic Engagement” – Luka Lekhnovskyi, a 6th-year student of the Medical Faculty;
- In the nomination “For Significant Achievements in Cultural Development” – Tetiana Shevchuk, a 5th-year student of the Medical Faculty.
- In the nomination “For Significant Achievements in Sports” – Olha Tataryn, a 3rd-year student of the Medical Faculty (group TR 303);
- In the nomination “For Active Volunteer Activity” – Bohdan Sakhniuk, a 4th-year student of the Medical Faculty.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) diplomas were awarded to:

Yuliia Pravak.

The first agenda item concerned competitive appointments. Information on the candidates for academic positions and the conferment of academic titles was presented by the Academic Secretary, Professor Illia Herasymiuk.

Following the results of the secret ballot, Svitlana Nykytiuk was elected to the position of Professor of the Department of Pediatric Diseases with Pediatric Surgery.

The academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Emergency Medical Care was conferred on Iryna Yastremska.

A report on the activities of the Medical Faculty was presented by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Petro Lykhatskyi.

A report on the University’s medical and preventive activities, on behalf of the Vice-Rector for Science, Education, and Clinical Affairs, Professor Stepan Zaporozhan, was delivered by Doctor of Medical Sciences Andrii Prodan.

Information on the work of the University’s Specialized Academic Councils was presented by the Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Ivan Klishch, who also reported on the results of the University faculty ranking for 2025.
