Award Ceremony for the Winners of the First Stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Physiology

The first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Physiology for the 2025–2026 academic year was held at the Department of Physiology with Bioethics. The event brought together students eager to demonstrate solid knowledge across various sections of the discipline and to showcase a high level of practical training.

In the first round, participants completed test tasks covering four main sections: “Neurohumoral Regulation,” “Blood Physiology,” “Respiratory Physiology,” and “Cardiovascular Physiology.”

Based on the test results, 15 participants who achieved the highest scores advanced to the next stage of the competition.

In the second round, students demonstrated their practical skills: they conducted reflex studies, measured arterial blood pressure and pulse rate, and determined blood groups using monoclonal antibodies. In addition, participants performed spirometry, analyzed spirometric indicators, and recorded and interpreted electrocardiograms. Each task required not only theoretical knowledge but also attentiveness, precision, and the ability to make quick decisions. In a tense yet friendly atmosphere, the students demonstrated a high level of preparation and professional interest.

The evaluation was conducted by a competent jury consisting of Prof. Stepan Vadziuk, Assoc. Prof. Ihor Papinko, Assoc. Prof. Ihor Pankiv, and Assoc. Prof. Oksanaratynska. The jury members carefully analyzed the participants’ answers and assessed their practical skills, logical thinking, and confidence in conducting research. Thanks to their objectivity and high professionalism, the competition was held at an appropriate academic level.

Based on the results of all stages, the winners were determined. They demonstrated the best performance and confirmed a high level of proficiency in physiology.
First place was awarded to Tetiana Hihiichuk;
Second place was shared by Mariia-Oleksandra Bash, Daria Kiriia, and Anastasiia Oryshniuk;
Third place was awarded to Anastasiia Bronska, Olena Dudkevych, and Stanislav Stepanitskyi.

At the end of the event, participants and faculty members took a group photo to commemorate this important occasion.

Such intellectual competitions deepen professional knowledge, develop scientific thinking, and foster students’ interest in studying fundamental biomedical disciplines.
