Working Group of the “Nursing” Educational and Scientific Program Meets with Directors of Medical Colleges in Ternopil Region

As part of the monitoring of the “Nursing” educational and scientific program, on March 18, 2026, the program guarantor, Professor Mariia Marushchak, and Deputy Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Nursing, member of the working group, Associate Professor Liudmyla Mazur, held a meeting with directors of medical colleges in the Ternopil region. These included Petro Mazur, PhD in Medical Sciences, Director of Arsen Richynskyi Kremenets Professional Medical College, and Liubomyr Bilyk, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, PhD in Medical Sciences, Director of Chortkiv Professional Medical College. Medical colleges in the region are considered promising institutions for the employment of the program’s graduates — Doctors of Philosophy in the specialty “Nursing.”

The discussion took place in the context of developing the program’s scientific component. Participants analyzed its strengths, including the integration of education, practice, and research, the relevance of research topics, and their alignment with the needs of the healthcare system. At the same time, areas for improvement were identified, such as enhancing knowledge in project-based activities and expanding cooperation with clinical and educational partners.

One of the key barriers to admission to doctoral studies is the high passing score required for the Unified Entrance Exam and the Unified Entrance Test in research methodology. This significantly limits the pool of potential applicants, particularly practicing nurses with substantial professional experience but insufficient theoretical preparation in the tested areas.

Such dialogue contributes to the development of the educational and scientific program, improves the quality of training, and helps shape professionals capable of combining clinical practice with scientific research.
