TNMU Researchers Participated in the 5th Seminar on Building a National Consensus on Open Science

On April 27, 2026, the fifth seminar on building a national consensus on open science took place. The event was organized by the consortium of the project “Open Science for Ukrainian Higher Education System (Open4UA)” (Erasmus+ CBHE Strand 3), of which I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University is a partner.

During the event, the Open4UA team presented the results of piloting tools for implementing open science at the institutional level, developed within the project. In particular, representatives of three pilot Ukrainian higher education institutions—Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, Mariupol State University, and I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University—shared their results and experiences of implementation, as well as discussed challenges, problematic issues, and opportunities for scaling.

The event opened with welcoming remarks by the workshop organizer and coordinator of the Open4UA project, Oleksandr Berezko.

Professor Yana Sychikova, representing Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, was the first to present her institution’s experience in implementing institutional tools for adopting open science principles.

This was followed by a presentation from Professor Oksana Shevchuk of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, who shared the results of piloting open science tools at TNMU.

Associate Professor Iryna Sikorska, representing Mariupol State University, presented her institution’s experience in piloting the Open4UA initiative.

At the conclusion of the event, Oleksandr Berezko expressed his sincere gratitude to all participants and voiced hope for continued fruitful cooperation and future meetings dedicated to open science.
