Students of the “Ukrainian Gymnasium” Lyceum Immersed Themselves in the World of Medicine at TNMU
On April 30, 2026, the doors of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University warmly welcomed students of the Ivan Franko Ternopil Academic Lyceum “Ukrainian Gymnasium”. This day became a true journey into a future profession for the young visitors, filled with discoveries and sincere emotions.


The meeting began with a warm welcome from the Vice-Rector for Science and Education, Professor Arkadii Shulhai, who spoke about the university’s values and the spirit of the medical community. To make the path to admission clearer, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, Associate Professor Ihor Drach, provided a detailed explanation of this year’s admission campaign.

After the official part, the students embarked on an engaging tour of the university’s facilities, where they were welcomed by leading scientists and faculty members of TNMU.

Within the walls of the Institute of Morphology, the students visited the Anatomy Museum under the careful guidance of Associate Professor Tetiana Henyk and Assistant Volodymyr Buryi. They explored the microscopic world at the Department of Histology with Professor Zoia Nebesna and Associate Professor Nataliia Ohinska, and learned about the importance of pathological anatomy from Associate Professor Ihor Yuryk.

At the Department of Operative Surgery, Professor Mykhailo Hnatiuk, Associate Professor Oleh Yasinovskyi, and Assistant Nataliia Stets demonstrated the intricacies of surgical skills. The students also visited the vivarium under the supervision of Associate Professor Yaroslav Stravskyi.

The Faculty of Dentistry welcomed the guests, led by the Dean, Associate Professor Svitlana Boitsaniuk. Faculty members from various departments (M. Zalizniak, L. Patskan, O. Stakhanska, V. Krupei, N. Tverdokhlib, I. Maika) showcased modern equipment and spoke about the art of creating the perfect smile.

Particular excitement was sparked at the Simulation Training Center, where specialists Oleh Kosinskyi, Valerii Zhyzhnomirskyi, and Pavlo Davybida demonstrated how students practice life-saving skills using modern mannequins.

At the Institute of Medical and Biological Problems, Associate Professors Iryna Pryvrotska and Lida Romaniuk introduced the students to the world of medical biology and microbiology.
Throughout the day, the lyceum students were accompanied by their mentors—student mentors Kateryna Kukh, Solomiia Kozak, Viktoriia Kovalchuk, Alina Vashkovets, Yevdokiia Mudra, Khrystyna-Nadiia Piddubna, Alona Charodii, and Yuliia Kondratiuk—who shared insights into vibrant student life.
This day left warm memories in the hearts of the lyceum students and strengthened their belief that medicine is a calling for the brave and compassionate.
