Professor of TNMU Leonid Hryshchuk Presented Implementing of Telemedicine at an International Conference in Lviv

On April 29, 2026, Professor of TNMU Leonid Hryshchuk took part in the international scientific and practical conference “Current Issues in Hygiene, Epidemiology, Microbiology, and Tuberculosis,” dedicated to the memory of Doctor of Medical Sciences Henryk Mosing. The scientific forum was held at the Research Institute of Epidemiology and Hygiene of Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University.

Leonid Hryshchuk delivered a presentation, “The Use of Telemedicine in the Management of Tuberculosis Patients.” In particular, it was noted that telemedicine in tuberculosis management worldwide has become a key tool for improving treatment quality, especially during pandemics or in situations where access to medical services is limited. Telemedicine technologies enable remote monitoring, consultations, and administrative support.

Telemedicine significantly improves the management of tuberculosis patients in Ukraine by implementing a patient-centered approach through home-based and primary care-level treatment monitoring. This reduces hospitalization rates, improves access to care, and enhances treatment effectiveness through digital technologies, including remote supervision and support, particularly in the treatment of drug-resistant TB, in accordance with WHO recommendations.

The event concluded with the adoption of a resolution that laid the foundation for new joint projects between Ukraine and Poland aimed at strengthening public health and preserving scientific traditions.
