TNMU Specialists Continue Outreach Consultations within the “Clinic on Wheels” Project

More than ten years ago, I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University established the mobile medical consultation team known as the “Clinic on Wheels.” The team includes highly qualified specialists from pediatric departments, as well as experts in neurology, psychiatry, otorhinolaryngology, and ophthalmology.

The specialists have visited all healthcare institutions and boarding schools throughout the Ternopil region. Outpatient consultation services are provided on-site, while patients requiring inpatient treatment or additional diagnostic evaluation are referred to the Ternopil Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital.

Recently, the consultation team was invited to examine and provide consultations for children at the Pidvolochysk Primary Health Care Center. The team included the group leader, Associate Professor Tamara Vorontsova, Professors Olha Fedortsiv and Svitlana Nykytiuk, Associate Professor Liubov Volianska, pediatric surgeon Associate Professor Ihor Krytskyi, pediatric orthopedist Associate Professor Mykhailo Protsailo, as well as specialists from other departments, including a neurologist and an otolaryngologist.

During the visit, more than 100 children aged from one month to seventeen years were examined and consulted. Patients with newly identified health conditions were referred to the Ternopil Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital for inpatient treatment or comprehensive instrumental and laboratory examinations.

At the request of mothers, pediatricians also provided recommendations on infant care during the first year of life and offered nutritional guidance.

The university will continue organizing such outreach consultations, which make it possible to detect diseases at early stages of development. In addition, preventive measures carried out during these visits help reduce the risk of disease progression and promote better health outcomes.

The university administration actively supports closer cooperation between clinical departments and healthcare institutions at various levels of medical care delivery. It also expresses sincere gratitude to the management of the Pidvolochysk Primary Health Care Center, particularly its Director Myroslav Vovchuk and Deputy Director for Economic Affairs Olha Bilyk, for the excellent organization of the institution’s work. The comfortable conditions created for patients, the coordinated efforts of the staff, and their attentive approach to patients’ needs deserve the highest respect.
