Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physical Education Participated as a Speaker at the All-Ukrainian Conference “The Trajectory of Occupational Therapy Development in Ukraine: Past, Present, and Future”
On June 19–20, 2026, in Kyiv, Anastasiia Bai, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physical Education, had the honor of participating as a speaker at the All-Ukrainian Conference “The Trajectory of Occupational Therapy Development in Ukraine: Past, Present, and Future,” dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Ukrainian Society of Occupational Therapists.

According to Anastasiia Bai: “This was a particularly meaningful event for me, as I represented the city of Ternopil and was the only speaker from Ternopil Oblast. During the conference, I delivered a presentation entitled ‘An Occupation-Based Approach in the Rehabilitation of a Child after Stroke,’ where I shared practical experience in implementing occupational therapy interventions aimed at restoring a child’s participation in meaningful daily activities.”

The conference brought together leading rehabilitation specialists, representatives of governmental institutions, educational establishments, international organizations, and professional communities. Participants discussed current issues related to the development of occupational therapy in Ukraine, modern approaches to rehabilitation services, interdisciplinary collaboration, and prospects for professional growth.

A particularly valuable aspect of the event was the opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues from different regions of Ukraine, discuss clinical cases, and explore new directions in occupational therapy practice.

Anastasiia Bai noted: “I am proud to have had the opportunity to represent not only the academic community but also my practical work as an occupational therapist at the Outpatient Rehabilitation Department of the Ternopil Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital. Professional events such as this inspire further development, the implementation of evidence-based approaches in practice, and the expansion of rehabilitation opportunities for children and their families.”

She also expressed sincere gratitude to the organizers for the high standard of the event and for the opportunity to be part of a professional community that is shaping the future of occupational therapy in Ukraine.
