TNMU Professor Participated in the RIFF Thematic Summit
Oksana Shevchuk, Professor of the Department of Pharmacology with Clinical Pharmacology and Head of Research Management at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, participated in the Thematic Summit on Health & Food, Environment, and Data, Computing & Digital Research Infrastructures. The event took place on June 15–16 in Brno and was organized by Masaryk University.

The summit focused on the development and integration of Ukrainian research infrastructures within the following ESFRI (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures) domains:
- Health & Food;
- Environment;
- Data, Computing and Digital Research Infrastructures.

RIFF (Research Infrastructures for the Future of Ukraine: Roadmap for Sustained Growth and Recovery) is an international project funded under the Horizon Europe programme. It is coordinated by Masaryk University in partnership with Ukrainian and European organizations and is being implemented during 2025–2028 within the Horizon Europe framework dedicated to research infrastructures.
During the summit, Professor Oksana Shevchuk presented a poster describing the research infrastructure of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.

It was particularly encouraging that, within the context of Open Access and Open Science, special recognition was given to the OPEN4UA Erasmus+ Project, of which TNMU is a consortium member.

The RIFF project aims to support the modernization of Ukraine’s research and innovation system by providing a forward-looking vision for Ukrainian research infrastructures. The project is developing a Roadmap for the Recovery and Enhancement of Research Infrastructures in Ukraine, drawing upon the experience and best practices of European Union countries.

The roadmap will be created using two complementary approaches:
- a bottom-up approach, involving open calls for proposals, training activities, and awareness-raising initiatives;
- a top-down approach, based on consultations with governmental institutions and the scientific community.
Through these efforts, RIFF seeks to strengthen Ukraine’s research capacity, foster international cooperation, and facilitate the integration of Ukrainian research infrastructures into the broader European Research Area.
