State Certification of Pediatric Interns Held at the Department of Pediatrics of TNMU’s Faculty of Postgraduate Education

The Department of Pediatrics of the Faculty of Postgraduate Education at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University conducted the state certification of second-year interns specializing in Pediatrics. This year, 14 pediatric interns successfully completed their internship training. The final certification marked the last stage of their professional education before receiving the Specialist Physician Certificate and beginning independent medical practice.

The state certification consisted of three stages designed to comprehensively assess the interns’ theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and clinical reasoning.

The first stage involved practice-oriented emergency care scenarios using advanced simulation equipment. During this assessment, the interns demonstrated their ability to rapidly evaluate a child’s condition, make appropriate clinical decisions, and provide emergency care in accordance with current international guidelines and treatment algorithms.

The second stage took place in clinical departments, where the interns worked with real patients. They demonstrated their clinical competencies by performing patient examinations, analyzing clinical findings, formulating preliminary diagnoses, determining appropriate management strategies, and justifying the selection of necessary laboratory and instrumental investigations as well as treatment plans.

The final stage consisted of an oral examination, during which the assessment focused on the interns’ theoretical knowledge, clinical reasoning, ability to analyze complex clinical cases, and capacity to make well-founded professional decisions.

Усі 14 лікарів-інтернів успішно пройшли підсумкову атестацію, продемонструвавши належний рівень професійної підготовки.

The staff of the Department of Pediatrics of the Faculty of Postgraduate Education warmly congratulates the graduates on successfully completing their internship. They wish them continued professional growth, lifelong learning, successful careers, and significant achievements in the noble mission of protecting and improving children’s health.
