TNMU Rector Supports Blood Donation Week in Ternopil Region

Blood Donation Week in the Ternopil region brought together people from a wide range of professions in support of a noble and life-saving cause. Professor Petro Lykhatskyi, Rector of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, joined the large-scale charitable campaign dedicated to World Blood Donor Day.

By donating blood himself, the TNMU Rector highlighted the importance of fostering a culture of blood donation, particularly during this challenging time for Ukraine, when the need for blood components remains constant and critical for saving the lives of both military personnel and civilians.

This year’s campaign achieved a record-breaking result, with more than 800 blood donations collected over the course of the week. According to Vasyl Khominets, Director General of the Ternopil Regional Blood Service Centre, this is one of the best results in the history of the regional blood service.

Although Blood Donation Week has officially come to an end, the shared mission continues. The organizers express their sincere gratitude to the representatives of TNMU who took part in this exceptionally important initiative, demonstrating solidarity and contributing to the preservation of human lives.
