TNMU Remains a Leading Medical University in the Top 200 Ukraine 2026 Ranking

On June 29, 2026, the Euroosvita International Projects Centre published the twentieth edition of the academic ranking “Top 200 Ukraine 2026”, which evaluates the performance of higher education institutions across the country.

I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University has consistently ranked among the country’s leading medical universities for many years. In the 2026 ranking, TNMU placed third among Ukraine’s medical higher education institutions and 22nd overall. According to the regional results, the University also ranked first among higher education institutions in the Ternopil region.

When compiling the 2026 ranking, the experts took into account the ongoing transformation of Ukraine’s higher education system, which is undergoing profound structural changes driven both by higher education reforms and by the significant challenges resulting from the Russian Federation’s full-scale military aggression against Ukraine.

The ranking methodology is based on the Berlin Principles on Ranking of Higher Education Institutions, adopted by participants of the Second IREG Conference, and also incorporates the recommendations of the IREG 2025 International Conference, “University Rankings and Challenges of Sustainability.”
