TNMU Records a Historic Number of University Applications
The admissions campaign is currently underway at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. This year’s enrollment has been marked by exceptionally strong interest in medical, pharmaceutical, and psychology programs, reflecting the growing demand for healthcare professionals.
In response to current labor market needs, TNMU has expanded its range of academic programs by introducing three new fields of study:
- Nutrition Science – training specialists in healthy nutrition;
- Biology – offered at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels;
- Applied Linguistics.
Applications from secondary school and college graduates began on July 19, 2026. However, TNMU’s Admissions Committee has been operating since the beginning of the month. During the first weeks of July, the committee focused on applicants from preferential categories, including children of combat veterans, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and residents of temporarily occupied territories and areas affected by active hostilities.
From July 3 to July 10, applicants eligible to take an admissions interview instead of the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) were registered. A total of 48 combat medics successfully passed the entrance examinations and plan to pursue the highly important Paramedic (Emergency Medicine) program.
During the first days of the application period, the TNMU Admissions Committee recorded a significant increase in applications compared to the same period last year.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has expanded admission opportunities by increasing the maximum number of state-funded places allocated to TNMU. This decision reflects the university’s outstanding reputation and confidence in the quality of its educational programs.
The maximum number of state-funded places for the 2026 admissions campaign is as follows:
- Medicine – 320 places;
- Physical Therapy (Bachelor’s) – 95 places;
- Physical Therapy (Master’s) – 45 places;
- Paramedic – 40 places;
- Dentistry – 10 places;
- Nursing – 10 places;
- Pharmacy – 10 places;
- Prosthetics and Orthotics – 10 places.
The TNMU Admissions Committee welcomes prospective students and encourages all applicants to take advantage of either an in-person or online consultation to avoid mistakes when selecting application priorities or calculating their admission scores.
Registration is also ongoing for entrance examinations to the following Master’s degree programs:
- Public Health;
- Healthcare Management;
- Clinical Psychology;
- Biology.
