TNMU Rector was Elected Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Ternopil Regional Blood Center

The Ternopil region continues to implement modern governance standards in the healthcare sector. An important milestone in this process was the inaugural meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Ternopil Regional Blood Center, held on July 29, 2026.

A key decision of the meeting was the election of the Board’s leadership. Following a secret ballot, Petro Likhatskyi, Rector of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University was elected Chair of the Supervisory Board. His extensive experience in healthcare, medical education, and scientific research will provide a strong foundation for ensuring transparency, effective governance, and the strategic development of the institution.

Nataliia Markiv was elected Deputy Chair of the Supervisory Board, while Oleh Faryna was appointed Secretary. The Board also includes Nataliia Onyshkiv, Liudmyla Myta, and Nataliia Chudyk.

Petro Likhatskyi thanked the Board members for their confidence and emphasized that the Supervisory Board would focus on constructive cooperation with the Center’s management, supporting its continued development, and ensuring the effective fulfillment of its responsibilities in accordance with Ukrainian legislation.

Volodymyr Bolieshchuk, First Deputy Chair of the Ternopil Regional Council, noted that the systematic establishment of supervisory boards in the region’s municipal healthcare institutions is another important step toward transparent governance that serves the best interests of Ternopil region residents.

During the meeting, Vasyl Khominets, General Director of the Ternopil Regional Blood Center, presented the institution’s performance results and outlined plans to modernize its facilities and equipment, as well as to create more comfortable conditions for blood donors.
