Greeting from the Rector of TNMU on the Day of the National Flag and Independence Day of Ukraine
Dear colleagues, dear students of TNMU!
This year, we celebrate the 35th anniversary of the restoration of Ukraine’s independence — a landmark event that ultimately established our country as a free, distinctive, and sovereign state on the world map.
On the eve of this national holiday, we pay tribute to one of the most important symbols of our sovereignty — the National Flag of Ukraine. The blue and yellow flag is a symbol of our resilience. Under its colors, Ukrainians are fighting for freedom, while our medical professionals and soldiers save lives and defend every meter of our native land.

Today, amid our struggle against Russian aggression, the Day of the National Flag and Independence Day carry a special and profound meaning for each of us. These are days of sincere gratitude to our defenders, whose courage gives us the opportunity to live, work, teach, and develop Ukrainian science and medicine.
Our strength lies in unity, solidarity, and unwavering resilience. I am convinced that through our joint efforts, we will overcome any challenges and build a strong, advanced, and successful European Ukraine.
I sincerely wish all of us a swift Victory, lasting and just peace, and prosperity. May every home be filled with comfort, health, and security, and may our hearts be filled with pride in our people and our Motherland.
May the blue and yellow flag always proudly fly over a free, peaceful, and united Ukraine!
Happy Day of the National Flag and Independence Day of Ukraine!
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes!
Petro Lykhatskyi
