TNMU Participated in the Final Review of the Pilot Implementation of the “Methodological Recommendations for the Application of Tools and Mechanisms to Transform Various Areas of Higher Education Institutions’ Activities Based on the Principles of Transparency and Integrity”

On August 21, 2026, the Integrity Office of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) hosted the final event “Transformation through Integrity”, dedicated to the results of the pilot implementation of the Methodological Recommendations for the Application of Tools and Mechanisms to Transform Various Areas of Higher Education Institutions’ Activities Based on the Principles of Transparency and Integrity.

The event was organized as part of a pilot project by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention in cooperation with the NGO Anti-Corruption Headquarters, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine and funding from the Government of Denmark. Representatives of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, Borys Hrinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, H. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, Poltava State Agrarian University, and Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University took part in the event.

During the online meeting, TNMU was represented by members of the working group responsible for implementing the methodological recommendations on integrity and transparency: Hryhorii Zahrychuk, Rector’s Representative for Quality Issues and Head of the Department of General Chemistry, and Iryna Molen, Acting Authorized Officer for Anti-Corruption Activities.

During the event, the universities presented the results of piloting the Methodological Recommendations for the Application of Tools and Mechanisms to Transform Various Areas of Higher Education Institutions’ Activities Based on the Principles of Transparency and Integrity, as well as the findings of a sociological study on the perception of corruption among students and employees of higher education institutions. The participants discussed current challenges, achievements, and future plans.

As part of the pilot project, the NGO Anti-Corruption Headquarters, together with the NACP, conducted an analysis of TNMU’s anti-corruption infrastructure, educational activities and efforts to foster a culture of integrity, the accessibility of external communication, as well as the university’s financial management, procurement procedures, and reporting. The analysis aimed to determine the level of development, effectiveness, and consistency of internal anti-corruption mechanisms and to assess the university’s institutional capacity to manage corruption risks systematically.

One of the outcomes was the identification of TNMU’s strengths, demonstrating compliance with legislative requirements and existing management capacities, as well as areas for improvement aimed at practically strengthening transparency and integrity at the university.

TSMU looks forward to further fruitful cooperation and joint efforts with the National Agency on Corruption Prevention and the NGO Anti-Corruption Headquarters to promote the systematic development of a culture of integrity in Ukrainian education.
