Meeting of the Conference of the University Staff and the Academic Council of TNMU
On August 28, 2026, a joint meeting of the Conference of the University Staff and the Academic Council of Ternopil National Medical University was held. Before the meeting, the Rector of the University, Professor Petro Lykhatskyi, solemnly presented university employees with awards on the occasion of Medical Workers’ Day, as well as certificates confirming their English language proficiency at B2 level and Doctor of Philosophy diplomas.
The following employees received awards on the occasion of Medical Workers’ Day:

Certificate of Appreciation from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine:

- Honorary Certificate from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine:
- Mariia Marushchak, Dean of the Faculty of International Students;
- Oleksandra Oleshchuk, Vice-Rector for Research.
A valuable gift from the Mayor was presented to Mariiana Demchuk.
Certificates of Merit from the Regional Trade Union Council of Medical Workers were awarded to:

The main part of the meeting was opened by the Chair of the University Trade Union Committee, Associate Professor V. Voloshyn.
Through an open vote, the delegates of the Conference of the University Staff elected the Credentials Commission and the Counting Commission.
Under the first item on the agenda, “Results of the University’s Activities in the 2025–2026 Academic Year and Key Priorities for the New Academic Year,” the Rector of the University, Professor P. Lykhatskyi, delivered a report.

Professor M. Korda, Acting Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, International Relations and European Integration;

Information on the admission of students to the first year for the 2026–2027 academic year and the approval of measures for 2027 was presented by Oksana Lebid, Associate Professor and Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee.
Professor A. Shulhai, Vice-Rector for Science and Education, provided information on “Approval of the Work Plans of the Academic Council, Rectorate, Deans’ Offices, Research Department and Commissions, as well as the Set of Measures for the Organization of the Educational Process in the 2026–2027 Academic Year.”
The proposal of the Academic Council of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University to the Conference of the University Staff concerning the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine No. 2, renaming the Faculty of Medicine as the Faculty of Medicine No. 1, and renaming the Faculty of International Students was presented by Taras Borys, Head of the Legal Department.
