TNMU Medical Faculty Holds Ceremonial Student Induction
On August 31, 2026, a ceremonial student induction was held in the Assembly Hall of Ternopil National Medical University. The event brought together first-year students, academic staff, parents and guests, marking the official beginning of a new stage in the lives of future healthcare professionals and researchers.

The ceremony began with welcoming remarks by Svitlana Kucher, Dean of the Medical Faculty, who emphasized that the opportunity to hold such celebrations amid a full-scale war is made possible thanks to the defenders of Ukraine. Those present observed a minute of silence in memory of all fallen soldiers, including 16 TNMU students, graduates and employees who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. This was followed by the solemn performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine.

“Medicine requires great responsibility, patience, attentiveness to people and humanity. Behind every diagnosis, every medical history and every medical decision there is a particular person with their own experiences, hopes and fears. I wish you to gradually become the kind of professionals whom people can trust with what is most precious — their health and their lives,” Svitlana Kucher said.

A particularly special and proud moment of the ceremony was the recognition of applicants who achieved the highest possible score of 200 points in one or more subjects of the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT). For the ceremonial presentation of their matriculation documents, the following students were invited to the stage: Illia Obozovskyi, who achieved outstanding results in three subjects — Ukrainian language, mathematics and biology; Solomiia Troinitska, Dmytro Bondarchuk and Valeriia Kisilchuk, who achieved the highest score in biology; Kristina Korets, who received the maximum score in a foreign language; Yuliia Slobodian and Anna Popyk, who achieved 200 points in the History of Ukraine; and Diana Palkova, who achieved the highest result in mathematics.

The ceremony concluded with the taking of the TNMU Student’s Pledge. All first-year students stood and, repeating the words of the pledge in unison after Ihor Drach, Deputy Dean of the Medical Faculty, solemnly made their commitment as students of the University.

For these young people, an intensive, responsible and at the same time exciting journey towards earning the high distinction of becoming physicians and qualified healthcare professionals has begun.
