TNMU Students Take Part in the Literary and Arts Forum “Dialogue of Two Cultures – 2026”

On 4 September 2026, a literary and arts forum entitled “Dialogue of Two Cultures – 2026” was held to mark the birthday of the outstanding Polish poet Juliusz Słowacki. Students of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University took an active part in the event.

Representatives of the “Terpolyany” Research and Local History Study Group joined the celebrations, including fourth-year student Sofia Kukharchuk and first-year student Maksym Peiko.

As part of the programme, at the grave of Juliusz Słowacki’s mother, located at the Tunytskyi Cemetery, TNMU students gave a moving reading of excerpts from the poet’s epistolary legacy, including his letters to his mother written in Paris in 1842.

During their communication with members of the Polish community, the university representatives demonstrated a high level of spiritual, cultural and intellectual development, excellent foreign language skills, and the ability to represent their educational institution with distinction at the international level.

The participation of young people in such events is an important component of modern cultural diplomacy. It is through cultural dialogue, mutual understanding and sincere communication that mutual respect is deepened and friendly relations between the Ukrainian and Polish peoples are strengthened. Today, these two nations stand side by side in the struggle for a common future.
