German Palliative Care Expert Andreas Steli Conducts a Session for TNMU Students

On 10 September 2026, Ternopil National Medical University welcomed Dr Andreas Steli, a psychologist, PhD, and certified course instructor of the German Association for Palliative Medicine, and Halyna Leitsyus, PhD in Philology, translator, and co-author of the handbook Nutrition in Palliative Care. The experts shared their professional experience with students majoring in Nursing and Clinical Psychology.

At the beginning of the meeting, Andreas Steli delivered a lecture entitled “Fundamentals of Palliative Care,” highlighting the essence and critical importance of this area of medical and social support. The session was then followed by a seminar entitled “Communication in Palliative Care.”

Thanks to the professional cooperation between Andreas Steli and Halyna Leitsyus, this complex and emotionally challenging topic was presented in a highly accessible, comprehensive, and practical way.
