Academic Integrity as the Foundation of Quality Education and Research: Rights, Responsibilities and Accountability of Participants in the Educational Process

On 25 September 2026, representatives of the Academic Integrity Promotion Group, together with lecturers from the Department of Higher Education Pedagogy and Social Sciences of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University (TNMU), held an educational and awareness-raising event for first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine. The event aimed to promote students’ understanding of the essence and importance of academic integrity. Professor Vitalii Kulchytskyi introduced the students to the work of the Academic Integrity Centre and the Academic Integrity Promotion Group at TNMU.

Associate Professor Nataliia Kalyniuk delivered an interactive lecture entitled “Academic Integrity as the Foundation of Quality Education and Research: Rights, Responsibilities and Accountability of Participants in the Educational Process”.

The students were introduced to the key provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On Academic Integrity”, the TNMU Code of Academic Integrity and Ethics, as well as the types and consequences of academic integrity violations.

Professor Leonid Kravchuk emphasised that adherence to the principles of academic integrity during university studies is a foundation for responsible professional practice among future healthcare professionals.

The event took place in a friendly atmosphere and generated lively interest and positive feedback among the students.
