Biology Programme Working Group Meets with Stakeholders from TNPU
A regular working meeting of the guarantor and working group of the Biology Educational and Scientific Programme at the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education, specialty E1 “Biology and Biochemistry” in the field of knowledge E “Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics”, was recently held with leading stakeholders of the programme.
Representing I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University at the meeting were Professor Larisa Fedoniuk, guarantor of the Biology Educational and Scientific Programme, and Professor Zoia Nebesna, a member of the working group and developer of the programme. The stakeholders from Volodymyr Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University included Oksana Bodnar, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, and Vitalii Sheiko, Head of the Department of General Biology and Methods of Teaching Natural Sciences.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the modernisation of the programme content in line with current global trends in biological science and the needs of the labour market. The discussion focused on the integration of advanced scientific areas into the educational process. The participants considered in detail opportunities to expand the scope of research topics and educational components in the fields of morphology and physiology of biological objects, biotechnology, and environmental safety. The stakeholders noted the high level of theoretical training of postgraduate students and shared their views on the practical skills that are currently in greatest demand.
The meeting also addressed the introduction of new topics related to epigenetics, cellular regeneration, environmental monitoring, and the preservation of the gene pool. The partners proposed a number of promising applied research topics for future postgraduate students’ scientific projects, which are of significant scientific and practical importance.

Larisa Fedoniuk, guarantor of the Biology Educational and Scientific Programme, expressed her sincere gratitude to the partners for the constructive dialogue and valuable recommendations. TNMU representatives emphasised that regular feedback from employers and the academic community is a key tool for ensuring the high quality of higher education and the successful accreditation of the programme.
