Canadian physical rehabilitation expert gave a lecture for TSMU instructors and students

Recently, Canadian expert Renata Roman gave a public lecture “Developing physical therapist thinking, from evaluation to intervention” in Ternopil State Medical University.  Renata Roman (PT, MCP) is the founder and owner of Clarkson Sports & Physio Clinic in Toronto. She is also vice president and international coordinator of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress and teacher of the School of Rehabilitation Medicine Ukrainian Catholic University. After the lecture, Ms. Roman held a workshop “Physical therapy for shoulder joint disorders”.

Director of UCU School of rehabilitation medicine and Ministry of Health of Ukraine expert Volodymyr Holyk, also participated in the workshop, sharing his experience in medical rehabilitation.

Renata Roman and Volodymyr Holyk met with Ternopil State Medical University rector of, Professor Mykhaylo Korda, to discuss further cooperation in training Master’s and Bachelor students majoring in Physical therapy and Ergotherapy as well as the possibility of study visits by teachers and students of Ternopil State Medical University .

Dr. Korda stressed that our university puts significant effort in developing the specialty “Physical Therapy”. Since this is a relatively new area of training in Ukraine, it is especially important to exchange knowledge with foreign universities and rehabilitation centers.
