Certificate Program “Clinical Psychology” at TNMU

The certificate program “CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY” is intended for the development and expansion of the professional skills of psychologists in the fields of modern psychotherapy, pathopsychology, psychiatric propaedeutics, clinical psychodiagnostics, clinical neuropsychology and the development of practical skills for their successful use in clinical psychological practice.

The program is aimed at: psychologists, clinical psychologists and specialists with “Master” degree in the specialty 053 “Psychology” and those who work in the field of health care.

According to the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 1782 dated September 30, 2022, from now on the position of clinical psychologist in psychological, rehabilitation and crisis centres can be held by specialists who not only have a master’s degree in psychology, majoring in “Psychology”, but also completed specialized training by January 1, 2026 in the specialty “Clinical Psychology”.

Peculiarities of training in the program

The program includes the following educational components:

  • Propaedeutics of psychiatry
  • Clinical neurodiagnostics
  • Psychiatry for clinical psychologists
  • Basics of psychocorrection
  • Crisis psychological assistance

The program will help you acquire the ability to:

  • choose and apply scientifically verified psychodiagnostic methods and evidence-based methods and techniques of practical activity;
  • carry out practical counseling and psychotherapeutic and psychocorrective activities using valid methods and techniques;
  • develop strategies, organize and conduct clinical and psychological research;
  • interact effectively with colleagues in mono- and multidisciplinary teams;
  • develop and implement innovative methods of psychological assistance and correction of the psycho-emotional state of clients;
  • provide crisis psychological assistance.

Speakers: leading specialists of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.

Program scope and duration: 10.4 ECTS credits over 2 months (198 hours of training) in the form of multimedia and interactive lectures, seminars and practical classes, independent study, group and individual work, etc.

Dates: November 1, 2023 (every day from 10:00 a.m. from Monday to Friday, 10 to 4 hours per day, depending on the topic).

Study format: full-time (offline).

A document proving the completion of the training: a certificate.
