Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language at TNMU

The Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language was celebrated in Ukraine. The teachers of the Department of the Ukrainian Language of TNMU held events on this holiday. The students of the Faculty of Medicine and the International Students Faculty joined the events.

Professor Anatolii Vykhrushch organized a poetry contest “Native language, native word”. The winners were Iryna Kulak and Nazar Chekanovskyi, the students of the Faculty of Medicine. Iryna Holotova, Viktoria Guderuk, Anastasiia Orlivska, Anastasiia Diachuk, Nazar Koliasa, the first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine were awarded for the best reciting the poems.

Associate Professor Maria Tyshkovets and students of group MM-118 watched the video presentation “What is the Ukrainian language?”. Students got acquainted with the main milestones in the history of our language from the beginning to the present.

On the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, teacher Nadiia Oliinyk told the students of the group 227 of the International Students Faculty about the history of the holiday, its significance for the development of the Ukrainian language and nation.

Students Abu El Kussin Jihan, Avenue Lutfat Kikelomo, Hirhi-Jacques Julia, Hlutz Carolina, Kadri Omovunmi Sara, Makuntual Ngolo Ange, Mandur Amina, Mbalenga Mazika Esther, Mumonvu Edwin Osejem, Mumonvu Chinedu Patrick and Oni Esther Adedolapo read poetry about the Ukrainian language by Maksym Rylskyi, Andrii Malyshko, Liubov Zabashta, Mariika Pidhirianka, Dmytro Pavlychko, Pavlo Tychyna.

Associate Professor Iryna Zalipska and the students of group 117 of the Faculty of Medicine took part in the educational event “We have a single language”. Students Mariia Hilevych, Iryna Zhuk, Kateryna Mavdryk and Anatolii Dytko recited poems. At the end of the event Talina Zaichuk charmed everyone with the song “Oi u luzi chervona kalyna (Oh, red viburnum in the meadow)”.

Associate Professor Oksana Novitska and the students of group IM-145 watched and discussed the film about the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language. Moreover, international students recited poems about the Ukrainian language. Ukrainian poetry by international students Kottur Valiapidiakkal Jessil and Borah Kapil sounded great.

Associate Professor Iryna Zalipska prepared a quiz “Culture of the doctor’s language” for the students of group MM-101. The students took part and demonstrated a high level of mastery of the norms of the Ukrainian literary language.
