Choosing an Institute

  • Foreign Students can also apply through Educational Consultants India Ltd. (Ed. CIL), a Government of India enterprise that facilitates admissions and is a one step window for foreign students. Ed. CIL edcil.co.in gives advice on suitable colleges and programs after verifying the student’s requirements.

Essential Criteria

  • For admission to all undergraduate courses, universities or institutes of higher education in India the candidates are requireed to have Higher Secondary/ GEC A level / any other examination equivalent to + 2 stage of Indian qualification (12 years of schooling) with subjects related to their chosen area of study. However, for entry into diploma programs, the qualification should comprise of 10 years of schooling.
  • Additional requirements, if any, are as per the course sought to be pursued.

Scholarships under Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Program

            The ITEC Program of the Ministry of External Affairs was an earnest attempt by India to share the fruits of its socio-economic development and technological achievement with other developing countries, including Ukraine.

Since 1998, 162 Ukrainian experts and specialists have been trained in India in diverse areas such as Information Technology, Management, Administration, Accounts, Audit, Banking and Finance, Education & Human Resource Development, English Language, Journalism, Diplomacy, Entrepreneurship, Water Resource Development, Internet Security, Crime Management, Legislative Drafting for Foreign Parliamentary & Government officials etc.

The ITEC/SCAAP (Special Commonwealth Assistance for Africa Program) has the following components:

  1. Training (civilian and defense) in India of nominees from ITEC partner countries;
  2. Projects and project related activities such a feasibility studies and consultancy services;
  3. Deputation of Indian experts abroad;
  4. Study Tours;
  5. Gifting/Donation of equipment at the request of ITEC partner countries; and Aid for Disaster Relief.

Guidelines for ITEC Courses

Who can apply?

  • Employees and officials in Government, Private and Public Sector, Parastatals, Universities, Chambers of Commerce and Industry
  • Having 5 years minimum work experience
  • Applicants who are between the age group of 25 to 45 years
  • Who are medically fit

How to apply

  • Applicants are required to fill in the application at the “Apply for ITEC/SCAAP Course” link at the website (https://www.itecgoi.in/meaportal/registerApplicant).
  • After a candidate has applied for a course, he/she must take a printout of the application and submit to Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Kyiv (Ukraine).
  • Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine will in turn forward the applications to the Embassy of India, Kyiv.
  • Candidates are required to fill in the Application Form carefully and not leave any column incomplete/blank or furnish incorrect information. Undertaking by candidate, certification from employer and medical report are mandatory.

Eligibility criteria for admission to courses

  • Must have the required academic qualifications as laid down by the Institute for the selected Course.
  • Must have working knowledge of English to follow the Course.

Scholarships

Government of India will bear the following expenses for the selected candidate

  • Round-trip international airfare by economy class.
  • Course Fees.
  • Accomodation – hostel (depending on availability, it could be on single or sharing basis) or hotel in case of non-availability of hostel accommodation.
  • Living Allowance @ Rs 25,000 per month. Candidates are, among other things, expected to meet the expenditure for their meals from this amount.

General Information

  • Application must reach the Indian Embassy before 3 month of the commencement of the Course.
  • The candidate is required to appear for interview at the Embassy.
  • Upon selection, the Embassy of India will inform the Ministry of Economic Development and the Trade of Ukraine, Kyiv.
  • Selected candidates are required to fully familiarize themselves regarding living conditions in India and the Institutes through the website of the concerned Institute.
  • Decision for grant of scholarship rests solely with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

Scholarship Programs of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)

Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)  scholarships for regular courses of higher studies

  • The scholarship is awarded in almost all the discipines of regular academic study and also for classical dance, music, fine arts, etc in India.
  • Applications should be routed through Embassy of India, Minsk and not directly sent to ICCR.
  • Applicants are advised to go through the ‘University Handbook’ (http://aiuweb.org) at the Embassy to choose a University and a course.
  • The applicant must be fluent in English.

Ayush Scholarship Council

Scholarships are provided for the following courses:

Undergraduate courses

  • Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS): 5 ½ year degree course including one year mandatory clinical training.
  • Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS): 5 ½ year degree course including one year mandatory clinical training.
  • Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS): 5 ½ year degree course including one year mandatory clinical training.
  • Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicines and Surgery (BAMS): 5 ½ year degree course including one year mandatory clinical training.

Post Graduate Courses

  • D. Ayurveda: 3 year course.

Eligibility: BAMS degree recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicines (CCIM).

  • MD Siddha: 3 year course.

Eligibility: BSMS degree recognized by CCIM.

  • MD Unani: 3 year course.

Eligibility:

BUMS degree recognized by CCIM (It may be noted that amongst foreign universities only degrees of Sri Lanka) Universities i.e. BAMS and BUMS from Institute of Indigenous Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and BSMS from Universities are recognized by CCIM.

  • MD Homoeopathy: 3 year course.

Eligibility: BHMS degree recognized by CCH (Central Council of Homoeopathy). (It may be noted that only the UG degrees of Indian Universities are recognized by CCH).

Ph.D. Courses

  • D in Ayurveda: 3 years course.

Eligibility: MD (Ayurveda) degree recognized by CCIM.

Procedure for application

Applications should be properly filled-up (in duplicate) and sent with supporting documents. Certified copies of all documents should be accompanied with English transitions, a syllabus of the qualifying examination should be enclosed with the application. The applicant must be fluent in English. Applications should be routed through Embassy of India, Kyiv and not directly sent to ICCR.

It may also be noted that airfare will not be given to the selected candidates. Expenditure on laboratory chemicals and other related incidental charges will be borne by the scholars themselves.
