Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Ukraine visited TNMU

The meeting of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University Rector, Professor Mykhaylo Korda and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Ukraine Zahid Mubashir Sheikh took place on September 12, 2019. His deputy Zeb Alam Khan took part in the official events.

“Today, we have over 6000 students at our university, nearly 2000 of them are citizens from 52 countries. Young people from Pakistan are successful students,” said Professor Mykhaylo Korda.

The honoured guest emphasized that Ukraine is distinguished for its unique and rich culture. Ukraine is worth being known more about all over the world. Zahid Mubashir Sheikh noted that Pakistan, being a home to more than 200 million people, is also a favourable partner for our country. Parents are trying to educate their children abroad – in the USA, Europe. “Few people know the benefits of studying in Ukraine. For our part, we will try to promote its popularity in Pakistan. Ukraine is a wonderful country with beautiful and courageous people. It is a safe and secure place with high level of education,” the guest added.

After that, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Ukraine met with the students. 29 students from Pakistan studying at Ternopil National Medical University came to speak with the honoured guest. Also, students of TNEU and TNTU participated at the meeting.

Zahid Mubashir Sheikh appealed to his compatriots asking them to study well and return home as graduate doctors. “You study at one of the best universities in Ukraine. You can make use all the opportunities, so try to be better, to use every moment. Your parents sent you to Ukraine to become successful doctors, remember about it, respect their work, try to live up to their hopes. I want to say that I am your second father here. You can write a letter about your needs and concerns at any time, ask for advice and assistance”.
