Festive Christmas Concert at TNMU

The concert of spiritual music “The word became flesh and settled among us” was held on January 28, 2020 in the assembly hall of the administrative building of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.

The festive program was started by the chamber orchestra of the Ternopil Regional Philharmonic under the direction of Kyrylo Semenchenko. The female vocal trio «Solovii Halychyny», composed by the Honored Artist of Ukraine Nadiia Tatarchuk, Nataliia Boiko, Oksana Lisovets, pleased the audience with their singing.

Quotations from the Bible in Ukrainian and English were read by medical student Bohdan Avdieiev and the student from Ghana Koduah Kaiser Discher Amoah.

The New Year 2020 began with a good news: all the churches, with the support of the Pope, proclaimed this year the Year of the Bible. It is the first of its kind evangelical initiative. This has never been done on a global scale before. The initiative is to show and strengthen the values of the Word of God to all people.

The event and the entire TNMU staff were blessed by the Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Ternopil-Zboriv of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, Bishop Vasylii Semeniuk.

Our university has its own spiritual traditions: these are choir performances with a Christmas program, and active volunteer and charitable activities of teachers and students, meetings with the Fathers of the Church, and spiritual meetings with priests.

This evening, a quartet of the Joseph Slipy Ternopil Theological Seminary visited TNMU with the Christmas carols.

Theater and cinema actor, director, teacher, public figure, People’s Artist of Ukraine, TNPU Professor Viacheslav Khimiak presented the wisdom of Shevchenko’s word.

TNMU Teachers and Students Choir, whose performances are eagerly awaited, prepares a new Christmas program each year. At the concert, the guests had the opportunity to enjoy Christmas carols and shchedrivkas, as well as to watch a verbal performance from the actors of the “Art-drama” theater studio.

Ternopil National Medical University trains 2,300 international students who are an integral part of our university family. Art has become a reliable support for them, giving them the power to live far from home for a long time. At the TNMU stage there were performed Christmas songs by a Pentecost International Worship Center and international students choir who practice Christianity.

The final part of the festive program was the theatrical performance “Malanka” by Ternopil Theological Seminary.

Finally, the “Narodyvsia Boh na saniakh” carol was performed by all program guests and spectators in the hall.
