Friendly hugs and tears of farewell as the XI International Summer School wraps up
Participants of the XI International Student Summer School, which was taking place on the grounds of the education and recreation complex Chervona Kalyna of Ternopil State Medical University, prepared an upbeat and exciting concert program to mark closing of the camp on 24 July.
First, the organizing committee presented souvenirs to the guests who came from other cities in Ukraine and abroad. Young people expressed their gratitude for the possibility to participate in this project and their desire to continue to communicating with each other. The week filled up with events, trainings, trips and interaction, flew by, but the students have become quick friends. During the final concert they felt as they were one family. Nearly every performance was accompanied by applause, passionate emotional support and standing ovations.
The young people showed maximum creativity in demonstration of their talents. The summer school participants prepared the concert entirely by themselves, carefully selecting each performance.
The hall of the Conference Center of the education and recreation complex Chervona Kalyna was filled up with lyrical and joyful songs in Ukrainian, English, and Polish.
Participants had an opportunity to enjoy Georgian folk dance by the representatives of Tbilisi State Medical University and Ukrainian performance from students Ternopil State Medical University.
Students from McEwan University in Edmonton, Canada prepared a creative surprise.
The audience admired a romantic ballroom dance performed by students of Ternopil State Medical University.
There were many other fun performances that night, but the participants of this year’s summer school were most touched by Andriy Kuzmenko song Country of Myself.
The event ended with young people expressing words of thanks to the TSMU administration or organizing this unique event, for the warm welcome and hospitality.
After the concert, students held long embraces and wiped tears knowing that in few hours they will have to say goodbyes. We hope that memories of this project will stay with them for a long time, and the friendships they developed in Chervona Kalyna will last for years.
