Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program 2023-2024

The deadline (October 15, 2022) for applications for this year’s selection of Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program 2023-2024 is pending. We encourage everyone who is engaged in research work to participate in the competition.

Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program enables research in US universities, research centers, libraries, museums, archives, etc. for three to nine months.

Qualification requirements. The following applicants can participate in the competition:

– teachers and researchers of scientific societies, educational and research institutions of the highest level (universities, institutes and academies), who at the time of application have the scientific degree of candidate of sciences, doctor of philosophy/doctor of arts, doctor of science;

– researchers without a scientific degree with a full higher education (Specialist, Master), with at least seven years of research experience and scientific authority in the relevant field of knowledge, with available publications (articles, monographs or chapters in monographs) in Ukrainian and/or or foreign (international) scientific journals;

– cultural and artistic figures, specialists in librarianship and museum work, journalists and public figures – with a full higher education (Specialist, Master’s degree), at least seven years of research experience, significant professional achievements, scientific achievements in the chosen field of research (articles, monographs or chapters in monographs) in Ukrainian and/or foreign (international) specialized scientific publications.

Those who have lived abroad for five consecutive years during the six-year period preceding the date of application cannot participate in the competition. In this case, a stay of nine months or more during a calendar year is considered a full year abroad.

In 2022, the Fulbright Program office will accept documents from applicants who are citizens of Ukraine who are in Ukraine, as well as those citizens of Ukraine who were forced to leave the country after February 24 due to the war.

Fields of specialization: humanitarian, social, exact, technical and natural disciplines.

General requirements for applicants:

– have Ukrainian citizenship and live in Ukraine at the time of the contest;

– can speak English at a level sufficient for professional communication in an English-speaking scientific environment;

– return to Ukraine for 2 years after the end of the grant period in accordance with the requirements of the J-1 visa, which is received by participants of exchange programs.

Terms of the grant:

– monthly stipend;

– medical Insurance;

– a round-trip ticket.
