International Students of TSMU Presented Joy and Happiness to Ternopil Children

Due to the project “Child’s Smile”, initiated by international students of I.Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University, on May 14 a charitable evening took place. Funds were raised and some necessary supplies and products were collected. On May 15 all these was given to children deprived of parental care and children who, due to the hostilities in Eastern Ukraine had to leave their homes. International students of TSMU took care of many large families of our city. The rising doctors managed to present smiles and happiness for forty children, because the main life principle of the facilitators and participants is to serve people.

During the charitable event its initiators told the audience about their aims, how to det acquainted with children and families and their feelings about all this. They also invited some children they take care about to visit them.

The event was full of creative performances by the students of M. Verbytskyi Ternopil Music School No2 Victoria Stetska, Yurii Tytar, Kateryna Babiichuk and Veronika Synorub. The youngest participant, the student of the School of Indian Dance of “Amrita” Elina Abakarova Dianka Drachevska (7 years old) was also cheered with applause.

The facilitators of the event in Ternopil were the sixth-year students Lorraine Ama Ojiji and the fourth-year student Juliet Kusi-Boateng.

The rising doctors perform social work within a framework of the NGO “MVP”. Lorraine Ama Ojiji is a member of this association.

The student said that the organization is located in Kharkiv, and she represents it in Ternopil. The project “Child’s Smile” is a kind of good deeds relay, which is taken over in different cities. She wanted to arrange it in Ternopil.

We managed to help 40 children with food, clothes, necessary medicines and funds.

“We are happy that we can help these children. I would welcome them at home if I could. I appreciate all my friends for their assistance in arranging the event,” Lorraine Ama Ojiji added.

On May 15, in the Taras Shevchenko Park the project “Week of Family” took place. That is why the students gave presents on that day. They treated the children and played with them. And our young people made children smile, and some of them became friends with the kids.
