Ivan Horbachevsky Prize Winners have been Announced in TNMU

During the meeting of the Academic Board of TNMU on May 25, 2021, Professor Mykhailo Andreychin, the President of the National Association of Infectious Diseases, Academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases with Epidemiology, Dermatology and Venerology, announced the results of the competition of research papers for the Ivan Gorbachevsky Prize.

This award is for the researchers of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University for development of scientific potential of the university, raising its rating and popularization in Ukraine and abroad.

The applicants submitted their papers regarding the areas of:

1) achievements in research on theoretical medicine and pharmacy;

2) achievements in research on clinical medicine and dentistry;

3) achievements in research on social sciences and humanities.

The main criteria for selecting the award winners were the results of completed research; a series of scientific works published in professional publications of Ukraine and abroad, which are part of the scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science; awards at national and international scientific forums; gaining and commercializing patents for inventions; presentation of their scientific developments abroad.

In total, 8 works were submitted to the competition. scientific achievements were presented to the commission by: Valerii Didukh “Volyn village in the 19th century”; Ihor Venher, Sviatoslav Kostiv, Mykhailo Husak “Repeated surgeries on the aorto-iliac-femoral-popliteal arterial bed in the late postoperative period: diagnosis, choice of reconstruction”; Aliona Savych, Svitlana Marchyshyn “Theoretical and experimental substantiation of the search for new anti-diabetic plant collections, their phytochemical and pharmacological study”; Andrii Tsviakh, Andrii Hospodarskyi, Oksana Shevchuk “Development of specialized telemedicine equipment and medical rehabilitation methods for remote rehabilitation of patients with injuries and musculoskeletal diseases”; Valentyn Franchuk “Disadvantages of professional medical practice: forensic, clinical and social aspects”; Viktor Shidlovskyi, Oleksandr Shidlovskyi, Larysa Sydorchuk, Mykhailo Sheremet “Autoimmune thyroiditis – an urgent issue of contemporary thyroidology” (series of theses); Khrystyna Maksiv, Maria Marushchak, Inna Krynytska “Association of gene polymorphism with metabolic factors in the mechanisms of arterial hypertension combined with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease”; Iryna Boiko, Inna Krynytska “Microbiological diagnosis of gonococcal infection, antibiotic resistance and genomic epidemiology of Neisseria gonorrhoeae in Ukraine”.

The commission analysed the submitted works and agreed on the winners.

Mykhailo Andreichyn announced that the study by Irina Boryna on “Microbiological diagnosis of gonococcal infection, antibiotic resistance and genomic epidemiology of Neisseria gonorrhoeae in Ukraine” took the first award in “Achievements in research on theoretical medicine and pharmacy”.

Regarding “Achievements in research on clinical medicine and dentistry” the first award went for the study “Development of specialized telemedicine equipment and medical rehabilitation methods for remote rehabilitation of patients with injuries and musculoskeletal disease” by Andrii Tsviakh, Andrii Hospodarsky, Oksana Shevchuk.

On the subject of “Achievements in research on social sciences and humanities” the commission awarded the first prize to the study “Volyn village in the 19th century” by Valerii Didukh.

Soon the winners will be awarded with certificates and cash prizes.
