Nationwide Research and Training Conference “Medical Care Management in Cases of Sexually Transmitted Infections” Was Held in TSMU

On November 26 the Nationwide Research and Training Conference “Medical Care Management in Cases of Sexually Transmitted Infections” was held in I.Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University. The honorary doctor of Ukraine, the Chief Dermatovenerologist of the Ministry of Public Health of Ukraine, the President of the Ukrainian Association of Dermatovenerologists and Cosmetologists Viktor Stepanenko, the Director of the Institute of Dermatology and Venereology Kutasevych Yanina, the Head of Eastern European Union of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Marius Domeiko (Sweden), Professor Magnus Unemo (Sweden), Dr. Kai Dzhoers (Estonia) and leading specialists from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Rivne, Uzhgorod, Vinnytsia, Ternopil took part at the event.

The guests and Victor Stepanenko met with the rector of TSMU Professor Mykhailo Korda. During this meeting the participants agreed on cooperation in joint scientific researches training opportunities for Ternopil Medical University researchers in Sweden laboratories. The colleagues are going to help to arrange a reference laboratory in our city to manage precise diagnostics of sexually transmitted infections. The Head of TSMU assured that the university will join all possible supplies and staff into this.

Organizing of a national conference at Ternopil State Medical University next year was also discussed during the meeting. Mykhailo Korda emphasised his support in this cooperation.

The program of National Research and Training conference also included master-classes on quality control of laboratory tests for district laboratory workers and laboratory technicians who are responsible for the diagnostics of sexually transmitted infections.
