Presentation of Volodymyr Panchyshyn’s Book “Heavenly Hundred Angels” at TNMU

On February 18, 2022, the students and teachers of TNMU met with Volodymyr Panchyshyn, the director of the religious publishing house “Saint Volodymyr and Olha”, a knight of the International Non-Governmental Organization “Sovereign Knighthood of Christ the Saviour”, in the reading room of the Library of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. He is the author of the book “Heavenly Hundred Angels”.

The event and all participants were blessed by Father Omelian Kobel, a participant of the Maidan and an eyewitness to the unique and tragic events of the Revolution of Dignity.

The Day of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred is celebrated annually on February 20 according to the Presidential Decree, dated February 11, 2015 “On honouring the heroism of the participants of the Revolution of Dignity and perpetuating the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred”.

The sad list of the Heavenly Hundred includes 107 heroes. The angels of the heavenly hundred gave their lives in the honour, freedom, the right to be a people, a country where it is not scary to live and have children…

Volodymyr Hryhorovych, presented the book “Heavenly Hundred Angels. Prayers to the Heavenly Forces for Protection of the Ukrainian People”. He noted that it is a response of the afflicted Christian soul to the fateful events of 2013-2014 and the critical socio-political situation in Ukraine.

The book contains prayers written by the author, information about the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, collected and arranged prayers of prominent figures of the Christian Church, poems by writers and Euromaidan participants and illustrations that reinforce the chapters.

The unique gift edition, complemented by videos and a collection of songs, was of great interest and provoked a discussion.

The participants of the meeting honoured the memory of the fallen heroes with “Prayer for Ukraine|” and a moment of silence.

Marta Rudenko, the Head of the Department of Educational Work and Cultural Development of TNMU, expressed thanks the author for his titanic work and for such an important meeting on these memorable days: “Our sacred and moral duty is to remember the best boys and girls who gave us the opportunity to live on, saved Ukraine for us. Unfortunately, the war does not end, so we must continue to resist the enemy, be strong and courageous, protect our country”.

 

 

The students, teachers and residents of the city came to meet with the author and get acquainted with the book. Anyone can study it in the Дibrary of TNMU.
