Providing opportunities for cooperation in the Baltic Sea region
We are now almost ready to welcome applications to our new SI Ukraine Cooperation Programme! In March, we launch the first call of this new programme and welcome project applications aimed at supporting Ukraine’s reconstruction, reform efforts, and EU integration in areas such as inclusive economic development, entrepreneurship and trade, human rights, democracy, rule of law, and gender equality.Currently, we also have several calls open for future participants in our leadership programmes. We recently launched the SI Global Executive Programme, which aims to strengthen business leaders’ knowledge and ability to drive change towards an ecologically, socially, and economically sustainable business life in their home countries. If you are a civil society leader in some of the EU Eastern Partnership countries working with the Sustainable Development Goal 16 of 2030 Agenda for sustainable development you can instead apply for the SI Leader Lab. Find out more about our work in the Baltic Sea region and with the EU Eastern Partnership countries on our web page dedicated to this region.> LAUNCH OF A NEW PROGRAMME SI Ukraine Cooperation ProgrammeThe first call of the new SI Ukraine Cooperation Programme will open early March. Through the programme, SI grants funding to projects aimed at supporting Ukraine’s reconstruction, reform efforts, and EU integration in areas such as inclusive economic development, entrepreneurship and trade, human rights, democracy, rule of law, and gender equality. The programme is aimed at actors in Sweden and their partners in Ukraine. Actors from additional programme countries may be included as partners if it clearly contributes to the feasibility of the project and benefit for the target groups in Ukraine. See partnership requirements on the website. Within the call for applications conducted in 2024, three types of grants are offered: project preparation, cooperation projects and thematic training programmes. Deadline for applications: 15 May 2024.Read about grant amounts, project period and other requirements on the website. More info in English. > PROJECTS IN SUPPORT OF UKRAINE  In summer 2023, SI conducted a special call within the SI Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme aimed at target groups in Ukraine. The programme is scheduled to take place from May to November 2024, featuring online sessions throughout its entire duration. Application deadline 12 March 2024. Apply here.SI Leader Lab brings together 100 civil society leaders who are working for Sustainable Development Goal 16 (just, peaceful, and inclusive societies). It comprises 15 countries including Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. The programme combines online workshops in both regional and cross-regional learning groups with regular coaching support, culminating in an intensive onsite learning week in Stockholm, Sweden, in October to enhance exchange and cooperation. Candidates must be between 22 and 45 years old and speak excellent English. It can be leaders from organisations working for example with peace, security, equality, inclusion, minority rights, marginalised groups, transparency and anti-corruption, accountability, access to free information and media integrity etc. Application deadline 12 March 2024. Apply here.

SI supports teaching about Sweden and the Swedish language at universities and colleges outside Sweden. Do you want to teach Swedish abroad? Meet dedicated students and get to know a new city! SI is now announcing vacant teaching positions at universities in Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia, and Hungary. Application deadline 7 March 2024. Find out more (in Swedish).
