Results of the Contest “TNMU Student, 2021”

For many years the contest “TNMU Student of the Year” has been held at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. The full-time students of the1st-6th years of study having high academic performance, being engaged in research and social life of the university take part in it. The winners are chosen in such nominations as “For significant academic achievements”, “For significant achievements in research” (I. Horbachevsky Prize), “For active citizenship”, “For significant achievements in cultural development”, “For significant achievementsin Sport”, “For active volunteering”.

The students interested in taking part in the contest submit their applications for consideration by the competition commission to the Centre for Educational Work and Cultural Development of TNMU. During the selection, the members of the commission take into account special achievements and accomplishments in various areas of student life, academic success, participation in research work, social life.

The winners of the competition “TNMU Student, 2021” were awarded during the meeting of the Academic Board on January 25, 2022. They were Roman Tarasiuk, Anastasiia Kovalchuk, Dariia Taran, Dmitro Koval, Anastasiia Nadkevych, Tatiana Valko.

Roman Tarasiuk (group MM-610) received an award “For active volunteering”. He is a co-author of learning materials “Manual on Prehospital Care according to the Adapted BLS Protocol”, “Handbook on Prehospital Care for Injuries”, “Tactical Assistance to the Wounded in Combat”, as well as the organizer and chief instructor of 14 trainings on prehospital care according to the BLS protocol and tactical medicine according to the TCSS protocol. Roman is the author and speaker of more than 30 lectures on prehospital care, co-author and participant in a instructive and educational video on tactical medicine according to the TSSS protocol.

Anastasiia Kovalchuk (group SS-404) won in the nomination “For active citizenship”. She is a student of the Faculty of Dentistry and a representative of the Commission for Improving the Quality of Education of TNMU, founder and first vice president of the NGO “Student League of Ternopil Region”. The student took part in the Oscar of Youth Work competition; she won in the nomination “Development of Student Youth” (https://ternopilcity.gov.ua/news/50149.html); won in the competitions “Public Budget 2021” and “Public Budget 2022”. In 2021 she received gratitude from the mayor for active citizenship, life position, significant personal contribution to the implementation of state youth policy in Ternopil City Territorial Community and on the Youth Day; gratitude for management of communication in the NGO “LST” of the projects of the Public Budget “Summer Stage” and “StudLab”; gratitude for development, implementation and submission to the “Public Budget 2021” of the project “Education and Information Environment”; thanks for assistance and support in winning the competition “NGO of the Year”.

Daria Taran (group MM116), won the award “For significant achievements in sports”. She was the first in the nomination Disco Dance Freestyle Solos Female Adults during the IDO World Disco Dance Cup (World Cup) (October 30-31, 2021, Follonica, Italy); 1st prize in Slow Duo Adults, 1st prize in Disco Dance Freestyle Solo Female Adults, 2nd prize in Disco Dance Duo Adults, 4th prize in Slow Solo Female Adults at the 16th Ukrainian Dance Olympiad (Championship of Ukraine) December 04, 2021; 2nd prize in Disco Freestyle Open Adults at the Nordic Grand Prix 2021 (December 10-12, 2021, Ekaterinholm, Sweden).

The commission awarded the Prize “For Significant Achievements in Research” (Gorbachevsky Prize) to Dmytro Koval (group MM-401). In 2021 he took three prizes at the XV International Medical Congress of Students and Young Scientists (Sections “Pharmacy. Pharmacology”), “Pathomorphology”, “Internal Medicine”), the second prize in the Conference of Students and Young Scientists of Bogomolets National Medical University. Dmytro is an active participant in the conference on topical issues of pathomorphology. He also published abstracts in the conferences “Science and Practice” in Chernivtsi, “Science and Practice” (Berlin, Germany), took the first prize in the Section “Neurology” of the 2nd International Olympiad “Samarkand 2021”.

Anastasia Nadkevych (group MM-311), a member of the NGO “Institute of National Heritage Research” and the Terpoliany Research and Local Lore Studio, was awarded in the nomination “For Significant Achievements in the Development of Culture”. In 2021, she was the organizer, co-organizer and participant of almost 30 public events.

Tatiana Valko was the best in the nomination “For significant academic achievements”. Her average score for the 9th semester of the previous academic year is 181.3.
