Santa Claus came to Ternopil National Medical University to help children in need!

As we promised before, we would love to tell you a little about results of amazing work of charity committee of Polish Students’ Association at Ternopil State Medical University, which was continuing its work before upcoming Christmas.

On 25th of November the ‘Santa Claus is Coming to TNMU’ Charity has started and teachers and students, whenever they were on naughty or nice list, had opportunity to do some good deed before Christmas, because and two teams with two Santas were travelling around all departments to hear those amazing voices while singing carols, see that honest smile on their faces and to ask for little help for orphans and patients from Children’s Hospital.

Few days later, on 28th of November, when first days of winter were knocking to our doors Santa and his helpers have not leaved Ternopil, because they were still working hard for a good cause. This time they visited the Deans Office to collect sweets, toys, items for babies and little money.

On the next, a team of Santa’s best accountants met to calculate the results of charity done during those two days. The result was really unexpected – our amazing students collected 16 920 UAH!

On 6th of December, the Saint Nicolas Day is celebrated in Poland. That’s why on this special day the Santa’s team went to Centre of Socio-Psychological Rehabilitation on Strimka St. to visit our precious children in need and give them sweets, hygiene items, games and art supplies. Every child had an opportunity to talk with Santa. At the end of that amazing meeting children sang and danced together making a beautiful performance dedicated to their unexpected guests.

What’s more Santa did not forget about our Children’s Hospital, where with cooperation with helpful teachers, the neediest patients were found. Neonate with hydrocephalus got all needed equipment to undergo operation, family of children with Pierre Robin syndrome got all needed equipment, hygiene items, pampers and other stuff to provide a care in outpatient condition and small patient with epilepsy got needed medicines for upcoming treatment cycle and some sweets from our Santa.

On behalf of Charity Committee we would love to thank all of people who opened their hearts and help children in need, supporting this event. See you next year!
