Scientists of Ternopil State Medical University participated in the international conference ” Diverse faces of depression”

Ternopil State Medical University has a long-term ongoing collaboration with Pope John II State School of Higher Education in Biała Podlaska (Państwowa Szkoła Wyższa im. Papieża Jana Pawła II w Białej Podlaskiej), Poland. The joint projects include research and academic exchange programs, etc. As part of this collaboration on November 21-22 TSMU scientists participated in the conference “Diverse faces of depression”, which was held at the partner university. The conference was chaired by the head of the State School of Higher Education, Professor Josef Berger. The executive committee also included a representative from Ternopil State Medical University, Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive-Care Medicine, Professor Olexander Oliinyk.

Participating in the conference were also head of Department of Physical Rehabilitation, Human Health and Physical Education professor Daria Kozak and head of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation, professor Ihor Mysula. Altogether, there were 200 participants.

During a plenary session Olexander Oliinyk presented a paper on “Burnout syndrome in the fifth-year medical students, clinical manifestation and correction”. He also received a letter of recognition from Dr. Josef Berger for his help in organizing the conference.

Other projects implemented together with the polish colleagues include “Physical activity and diet, and their relation to the lifestyle of Ternopil medical university students” and ” Physical activity and diet, and their relation to the lifestyle of 15-17 y.o. pupils of Ternopil schools”.  Ongoing research projects include “Research on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and prevention of borreliosis” and “Studying the latent forms of tuberculosis in the elderly and imprisoned”.
