Students of Bahçeşehir University (BAU) did summer medical training at TNMU

This year, for the second time, students of the Bahçeşehir University (BAU) Arthun Koken, Burhan Ozkan, Deniz Dereli, Weisel Korkut, Khilal Aybyuk Yildiz did their summer medical training at TNMU within medical students exchange program between Ternopil National Medical University and Bahçeşehir University (Istanbul, Turkey). For two weeks the students had their practical training at the medical centers of our city.

They had an opportunity to obtain a unique practical experience in the Training Center of Minimally Invasive Surgical Technologies under the guidance of the assistant Konstiantyn Pokhodun and independently carry out manipulations on simulators and experiments on animals.

For several days, students worked at the Ternopil University Hospital, where they practiced in surgical departments of various specializations: surgery, thoracic surgery, orthopedics and traumatology, minimally-invasive surgery departments.

Moreover, foreign guests were practicing in the Ternopil Regional Children Hospital, where under the supervision of Associate Professor Victoria Furdela they conducted clinical discussions of diabetes mellitus and cystic fibrosis cases. They had an opportunity to observe surgical interventions in the department of pediatric surgery and work in the ultrasound diagnostics room. Communication with newborns’ parents at the neonatal department produced deep impression on the students.

Also, students had an exceptional opportunity to acquire valuable practical skills of providing the first aid based on the modern simulation training center.

TNMU volunteers, students Maxym Horishnyi, Yuliia Bandrivska, Anna-Maria Koval, Daria Shandruk, Maxym Lukianenko helped our guests to overcome the language barrier and to communicate freely with well-known teachers and practitioners, as well as to get close acquaintance with Ternopil.

International students shared their impressions about Ternopil hospitality and invaluable practical experience at the medical centers of TNMU with the Rector, Professor Mykhaylo Korda.

In a solemn atmosphere, Mykhaylo Korda presented the students with the certificates about practical training and memorable gifts and also invited them to participate in international summer schools next year.
