Students of Chemerivtsi Medical College Spent One Day at TNMU

On March 14, 2024, TNMU was visited by students of the Chemerivtsi Medical College (Khmelnytskyi Region). They were accompanied by teachers of the College Anatolii Zadorozhnyi, Aliona Velhan and Natalia Deberchuk.

Rector of Ternopil National Medical University Mykhaylo Korda addressed the future nurses and paramedics with a welcome speech. Ihor Drach, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, told about the training programs and admission requirements in 2024.

According to the program of the visit, the guests visited the Institute of Morphology, where they got acquainted with the educational and material facilities of the departments and had the opportunity to communicate directly with teachers and their peers – students of our university.

Associate Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy Yurii Havryshchuk spoke about the history of the creation of the department, guided the college students through the exhibition halls of the anatomical museum, focusing their attention on various departments (osteology, arthrology, myology, splanchnology). He demonstrated the preparations that are in the museum, virtual tables that facilitate the study of human anatomy, because thanks to the appropriate software, students are able to explore the structure of the human body in 3D format. The highlight of the excursion was the department’s “living corner” – an aquarium with exotic fish.

The stories of Professor Valentyn Franchuk and Associate Professor Ihor Yuryk were interesting and informative, combined with a demonstration of museum exhibits of the Department of Pathological Anatomy, Autopsy Course and Forensic Medicine.

The Head of the Department of Histology and Embryology, Professor Zoia Nebesna, originally combined informative tours into the history of the creation of educational university laboratories, the dynamics of equipment and software with a demonstration of work under an electron microscope. College students were shown the laboratories and demonstrated the functionality of using the “Logos” histoprocessor. Senior laboratory assistant Oksana Kindzerovych told not only about the stages of preparation of materials for histological research, but also visualized its individual stages.

The guests were accompanied by mentors A. Charodii (FF-205), D. Tretiak (MM-586) and H. Lybavka (SS-314).
