Team of Ukrainian Students won the Rector’s Medical Quiz at TNMU

For several years, international students have been organizing medical quizzes at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University. Due to quarantine, this event was postponed to December 3, 2021. Seven teams applied for the medical quiz. Each of them represented their country: Ghana, Nigeria, Ukraine, India, Poland, Zimbabwe and Sierra Leone.

During seven rounds, the team members demonstrated their knowledge in medicine.

A team of Ukrainian students: Maksym Fik, Valeria Blahuliak, Anastasiia Martyniuk, Oleksandra Terenda, Daryna Shandruk won the competition. They defeated an experienced and titled team of Ghanaian students.

This time Ghana was the second. Gifty Naana Mensah, Dennis Sunten, Micheal Boakye, Bertrand Kuuku Crankson, Zulaiha Naadu Ali defended the honour of their country. It should be noted that this team has frequently won university as well as national quizzes.

The third place went to Nigeria: Sotonwa Adedoyin Goodness, Mgbokwere Okezie Benedict, Nwoko Ihechi Bright, Miracle Chinonso Oparah, Alayande Ayomide Esther.

The team of India (Pragati, Sritama Moulick, Malavika Menon, Shivam Yadav, Hardik Maitreya) was the fourth.

The fifth place went to the Polish team: Wiktor Gotowiec, Artur Wasilewski, Mateusz Hulboj, Agnieszka Zięba, Wojtek Wawszczyk.

The representatives of Pakistan (Saleha Mustafa, Raj Kumar, Amit Kumar, Kainat Khawaja, Warda Arshad) were the sixth.

The seventh place went to the joint team of Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe: Maria Kallon, Moses Abdul Sesay, Halima Bloh Nagbeh, Aleydah Motsi, Pearl Anesu Mpofu.

The event was organized by Akinlade Omobayo Abdulsalam, Addo Maame Akosua Agyarkobea, Adeniyi Adetomiwa Adewale, Agyeman Kwaku Osei, Adeyemi David Ayooluwa, Tanaka Cliff Nhokwara, Anna-Maria Koval, Bartosz Konrad  Maduka Chibuike and Thandeka Nompumelelo.

Volunteers of the event were Ibrahim Ibikunle (group IM333), who was an interim judge; Abduljaleel Bayero (group IM338) and Ameer Hamza (IM264), who assisted the panel of judges; Okunola David (group IM439), who was the time keeper.
